The Role of PTO

Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child and to benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we fundraise. Here are a few programs that we sponsor and/or support: Trunk or Treat, Cookies with Santa, Movie Night at the Eagles,  Teacher Appreciation Week, and various other activities  throughout the year.  In addition, we have programs that provide direct support to teachers and students throughout the year to facilitate special projects and needs. We do a fundraiser once a year in the Spring.

Our PTO provides volunteers for special events such as Grandparents Day, Field Day and Picture Day. The time commitment for these events are minimal but very helpful to the staff and fun.  In addition to raising funds for the Family Fun Events, we also help to organize and put on 3 big Family Fun Nights: Trunk or Treat, Cookies with Santa, and Movie Night at the Eagles. These are fun events that help to bring our teachers, students and their families together. Last year we held our first fundraiser . We held a Read-A- Thon in the Spring. It was a great success. Our students’ raised over $5,000.00. We used the money to help buy supplies needed for the Family Fun Nights, meals for teachers and a $100 gift card for each teacher.

Who can serve on PTO? 

If you’re a father, mother, protector, guardian, and/or a person who teaches or instructs at  LH Carpenter you are invited to join us at our PTO meetings.

Meetings

They will be announced through Class DoJo and you can also follow LH Carpenter's PTO Facebook page. They are held in the L.H. Carpenter Cafeteria
